New funding for cichlid project
Earlier this year I received a $1,000 grant from the Ohio Cichlid Association Jim Smith Fund. The fund supports research, education and conservation efforts that focus on cichlids and catfish. See the OCA website for information on the award and application procedures. I will be using this grant along with some additional funding to investigate ecological differentiation and potential hybridization in cichlid species of the genus Thorichthys. Anton Lamboj, a colleague of my advisor, accepted the award on my behalf at the OCA Extravaganza in November.
