Research support received from ASN and SSE

I'm honored to have been selected to receive a Student Research Award from the American Society of Naturalists (ASN) as well as a Rosemary Grant Advanced Award Graduate Research Excellence Grant from the Society for the Study of Evolution (SSE).

ASN Student Research Awards support research by student members that advances the goals of the society: the conceptual unification of ecology, evolution, and behavior.

The Graduate Research Excellence Grant from SSE is named for Rosemary Grant, an eminent evolutionary biologist known for her strong mentorship and training of young evolutionary biologists. Rosemary Grant Advanced Awards are to assist students in the later stages of their Ph.D. programs enhance the scope of their dissertation research.

I will be using the funds from these awards to further my investigations of speciation in sulfide spring fishes, particularly the evolution of reproductive isolating barriers such as mitonuclear incompatibilities.
